Reaction to Christian College Canceling Promise Keepers Event: God is Clear on Gender

BY ALEX MURASHKO
THINK ETERNITY

The news that a Promise Keepers event was canceled by Belmont University, a private Christian college in Nashville, because of the school’s opposition to the ministry’s position on gender ideology should be of concern to all Christ followers.

Belmont University announced last week it had canceled the event after organizers released a statement “reaffirming its support for the Biblical, biological, sexual identity of male and female, man and woman, in the context of marriage,” according to Promise Keepers, a nationally recognized men’s ministry.

Think Eternity ministry partner Malachi O’Brien said the cancellation and any falling away from Biblical teaching should matter to all Christians.

“The Bible and Jesus are clear on matters of sexuality and gender,” O’Brien said. “Any Christian institution [such as Belmont] that begins to worship at the altar of wokeism and gender inclusivity is neither loving nor Christian.”

He said that the university’s decision and posture is a warning to other groups proclaiming to be followers of Jesus Christ.

“This is the inevitable destination of any church, ministry, or institution that loses a hunger for the presence of Jesus in all things,” O’Brien said. “They become a modern day Esau, trading their inheritance for convenience, which in the end does not fulfill.”

Recapturing American Dream all about the ‘God-given’

BY CHERYL K. CHUMLEY
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

OPINION:

Mike Pence, former vice president, launched his run for president by saying the “American Dream is being crushed” and that “the enemies of freedom are on the march,” but that we could turn the country around and bring back that “shining city on a hill,” as Ronald Reagan fondly called the country.

True. But that won’t come from any political camp.

A return to American Exceptionalism — a recapturing of the American Dream — will only come when Americans put God back in charge of the country. And that’s going to take some deep, spiritually based reflection and acknowledgment of sin on the part of the American people, followed by mass repentance; that is, by a massive turning back from sin.

Here’s the logic: American Exceptionalism is based on the idea that individual rights come from God and that government is only in place to preserve and protect those rights. It’s common sense, then, that a country filled with citizens who derive their rights from God must keep God at the helm of all of society. You can’t have God-given rights if God is removed from the equation.

Is it Crazy for Christians to Believe in UFOs?

Apologist Details 3 Reasons He Believes the Bible Doesn’t Back Extraterrestrial Life

BY BILLY HALLOWELL
THINK ETERNITY

With unidentified flying objects (UFOs) increasingly making headlines, intrigue over the topic only seems to be growing, with one apologist noting this phenomenon is even invading some Christians’ beliefs.

Jason Jimenez, who leads Stand Strong Ministries and hosts the “Challenging Conversations Podcast,” recently broke down some facts he wants Christians who entertain UFOs and aliens to understand.

“If you look at the belief that many people have had through the centuries, even if you go back as far … as ancient Greeks, they believed and they even worshiped this idea of extraterrestrials among them,” Jimenez said on his show. “And you see that in full display among many of those ancient cultures.”
